We’re a small, friendly team, dedicated to ensuring our residents have an exceptional experience here at Greytown Orchards.
Andrew commenced his role as General Manager, just prior to the first residents moving into our lifestyle village at the end of August 2021.
He brings an immense amount of experience to Greytown Orchards, having previously held senior operational roles in a variety of sectors including ambulance, health and justice.
Andrew initially came from a frontline paramedic background so our residents will be in safe hands, with very little that can phase him.
In addition to this role, he has worked for Summerset as one of their Village General Managers, where he was responsible for their Aotea Retirement Village.
Not only that, but Andrew is a local – born in the Wairarapa – and has been very keen to return, upon finding the right employment opportunity. Andrew’s two daughters live in the Wairarapa with their families. So, it certainly feels like a perfect match all round!
Dixon has had a varied career starting off working life in his family’s marquee and party hire business while completing a business studies degree from Massey University.
After numerous roles in marketing and communications, he set up his own Insurance Adviser business in 2009 and operated this within the Wellington region for a decade.
After taking a break to focus on raising his two daughters, Dixon is thrilled to be able to work in the Retirement Village industry. Having a foundation in marketing and communications within the property sector, Dixon believes he has come full circle and is eager to contribute again, in a role he thoroughly enjoys.
Dixon has spent many years overseas having lived in England, Australia and Singapore but is now very much a Greytown local. He and his family embrace the Wairarapa lifestyle, enjoying village life, running the country trails, visiting local wineries, and spending quality family time at Riversdale Beach.
Nigel Nelson (centre) heads up our Grounds and Maintenance team, keeping everything at Greytown Orchards running smoothly inside and out. With over 20 years of working in communities, he’s a pro at fixing, maintaining, and making things tick. Off the clock, you’ll find him tinkering with old cars, motorbikes, or on his busy rural lifestyle block, where, just like at Greytown Orchards, there’s always something to do.
Christa brings warmth, energy, and a can-do attitude to our maintenance team, making her a favourite around the village. Originally from the Netherlands, she has called New Zealand home for over a decade, with past roles in vineyards and the Department of Conservation. When she’s not helping out at Greytown Ochards, she’s hiking, horse riding, or dancing up a storm with Border Morris dancing.
Together, and alongside our specialist gardener, this talented team ensure our facilities and gardens are always ready to be enjoyed by our residents.
